Hi Richard,

I agree that being angry is a waste of time. I have also come to understand that anger with another is actually anger at a denied trait in ourselves.

Now if I feel angry which hardly ever happens now, I do two things. I ask myself where in my life am I doing the same thing and I tap on it, which almost immediately releases the anger and brings me back to balance with a new insight and more understanding of the other.

I have found over time that the more I do this, the less anything or anyone bothers me.

Rich
Thanks for opening the memory box..
Some of my 60s memories:

1) TV was just 3 Black & White channels
2) Coke came in a bottle, not on a mirror. Crush, Tab, Tang were the alternatives
3) African-Americans called themselves "negroes" and the woman who lived next door said her son wouldn't go to my 6th birthday party because I had black friends who were there.
4) My father looked down on the Beatles, and now as a father myself, I'm trying to keep an open mind about my son's hip hop (not to my liking)
5) The cord on the kitchen phone would always get tangled and you'd have to unwind it from time to time.
6) Noodle Roni was a special treat
7) Rich kids has a Polaroid camera, we'd take the film from our family Brownie down to the drug store to get developed and get the pictures back 1-2 weeks later
A great time to grow up

Alicia: In some ways it was better because kids got out and did physical activities a lot more but in some ways today is better as well. Only a fool lives in the past but you don't get to be old being no fool. Thanks for being a loyal reader

I'm not sure if it's better now or then...Of course I'm biased to right now, though.

I also love to ride a bike. But I don't think spending that much money for a bike is clever unless one is a serious cyclist. I got my one for around $100 and it's really a good one for pleasure riding (some call it semi-MTB, which is totally okay with me).
